As the 10th Iranian presidential elections draw to their climax this Friday (12th June) amidst unprecedented levels of freedom of expression on all sides, the inhabitants of it's neighbouring countries must be looking on and wondering why with so much support from "western democracies," their own governments continue to cement their dictatorships while backing policies that undermine their own people, continuing to subject them to financial, social and cultural poverty.

Between Israeli state sponsored terror in Gaza, the US presidential inauguration (and state sponsored terror is Gaza), global economic meltdown and the Russian and Ukrainian gas spat, it seems the corporate media's narrative on Iran as spun away from it's progress towards nuclear power to flip to the other side of the coin, global terrorist. I assume it wont be too long before the nuclear issues returns to the headlines but at least for now it seems Iran will be safe from any direct attacks.

Reading, watching and listening to the coverage of the genocide in the Gaza Strip it was no surprise for me to witness the highly orchestrated and rehearsed theatre on offer. I was surprised to find myself spotting the odd commentator that did deviate from the narrative being spun with effortless ease.
